Abstract:
Shagou vanadium deposit occurs in the first lithologic layer of the second lithologic member of the Lujiaping Formation of the Lower Cambrianin in the early Paleozoic rift zone of the North Bashan Mountain in Langao county of Shaanxi Province. Based on ore prospecting in field, experimental analysis and comprehensive research, five main vanadium ore bodies have been delineated in the mineralized area, including carbon-siliceous vanadium ore and quartz, sericite and a small amount of pyrite and chlorite. Sericite in this area is the major ore-carrier mineral of vanadium. The vanadium deposit is obviously controlled by strata and has a large scale. Research on the deposit in this area would provide basic guidance for further prospecting similar ore deposits in the metallogenic belt.
