Abstract: The Lower Cambrian Lujiaping Formation is a kind of carbonaceous slate rich in organic mater in Ankang area of Shaanixi province. According to researches on physical features, organic-geochemical features and hydrocarbon generating capacity of the Lujiaping Formation, gas shale potential in this area is discussed in this paper.
