Study on the Relationship Between the Giant Crypto Explosion Breccia Belt and Paleoearthquake and Mineralization in Qinling Orogenic Belt

    • There is one kind of special breccia in the late Paleozoic remnant ocean basin along the central part of the Qinling Orogenic Belt. These breccias are mainly composed of albite and a small amount of carbonate minerals, which could be called as albite breccia regarding to the former mineral phases. According to the rock type and field characteristics, these rocks belong to a peculiar kind of cryptoexplosive breccia, which are predominately distributed into the Devonian strata, and a few in the Carboniferous or older strata. Further studies suggest that the cryptoexplosive breccia(belt) in the Qinling Orogenic Belt emerges along the Lixian-Fengxian-Shanyang fault belt and extends more than 500 km along the East-West trend from Henan to Gansu province. Different from the general tectonic-related breccia, this cryptoexplosive breccia(belt) is closely related to the activity of paleo-earthquake event, which resulted into the generation of massive and explosive mineralization, and led to the formation of a large polymetallic metallogenic belt with gold, lead, zinc, copper, nickel, cobalt and other minerals. In addition, as a special geological event with extensive, frequent, intense, instantaneous and deep characteristics in the earth, the earthquake activity has a widespread impact on the earth’s endogenetic and exogenetic geological processes in the fields of earth(deep) dynamics, geotectonics and mineral deposits, which are worthy of more attentions and researches.
