potential resources of shale gas in the Niutitang Formation at Zhongbao Town of southern Zhenping County, Shaanxi Province

Carbonaceous slate of the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation occurs in the area of Zhongbao town in southern Zhenping County, Shaanxi Province. It is indicated that the carbonaceous slate is rich in organic matter and has a certain potential of shale gas resources according to preliminary analysis and study on its Organic geochemistry characteristics,mineral composition, physical properties and pore types.
