Exploration of Geological characteristics and mineral sources of Shimiao gold deposit in Gansu Province

    • The Shimiao gold mine is representative of a class of gold deposits that are closely associated with magmatic processes, a fact that is evident in numerous other gold mines in the Gansu Beishan region. The deposit is produced in the secondary fracture tectonic zone within the quartz diorite of the Huarixi period. The geological and structural characteristics of the deposit, the isotope analysis of the metallogenic fluids, and the metallogenic elements indicate that the mineralization is closely related to the magmatic rocks. Additionally, the mineralization is closely related to the various levels of the tectonic system. The secondary fracture tectonics of the area in the north-east and north-west directions provide a favorable space for the transportation and storage of the ore-bearing hydrothermal fluids. The deposit is characterized as a postmagmatic, medium-low temperature hydrothermal vein-type gold deposit.
