Geological characteristics and metallogenic regularity of granitic pegmatite-type beryllium deposits in the Majiaping area, Eastern Qinling

Abstract
The Shang-Dan regions in the Eastern Qinling constitutes a pivotal metallogenic sector for granitic pegmatite-type beryllium deposits. Based on systematic compilation of previous research, combined with field geological surveys and petrological analyses of the Jiezigou and Jinshan typical beryllium deposits in the Majiaping area, this study summarizes the spatial distribution, internal zonation characteristics, and metallogenic regularities of these deposits. The beryllium orebodies are dominantly hosted in pegmatite veins in the metamorphic rock series of the Paleoproterozoic Guozhuang Formation of the Qinling Group, structurally contronlled by secondary faults branching from the anticline and by interlayer fissures, with the vein strikes consistent with the regional tectonic trend.Comparative analysis of the geological features indicates that, temporally, Be mineralization was mainly formed during the quartz-muscovite stage, which corresponds to the late-stage evolution of pegmatite melts; spatially, beryl is preferentially enriched in the quartz-muscovite-albite intermediate zones within well-zoned, large-scale pegmatite veins. Ore characteristics indicate that beryllium occurs mainly as beryl, and its enrichment intensity is closely related with the degree of albitization and muscovitization. These results provide a geological basis for the further exploration and metallogenic prediction of granitic pegmatite-type beryllium deposits in the Shang-Dan region of Eastern Qinling.
