Abstract
Many fault zones in Xi’an area produce many secondary ground cracks, which have a great impact on engineering construction. In this paper, the characteristics of faults are analyzed by means of investigation, artificial seismic drilling and geological drilling, making clear that the Jingyang-Weinan fault(Gaoling section) has a strike N57 ° W,trend NE33 °, a dip angle 70 ° and a vertical fault distance ranging between 3m and 10m above 60 m to shallow. The fault is a Holocene active fault with a slip rate 0.18 mm/a.
