Geological characteristics and prospecting indicators of the Dongdawan gold deposit in the Tongshi gold field, Western Shandong

Abstract
The Tongshi gold field is an important gold ore concentration area in the western Shandong Province, with identified gold resources exceeding 70 tons. The Dongdawan gold deposit located in the southern part of the Tongshi gold field, shows significant mineralization potential. This study systematically examines the strata, magmatic rocks, structures, alteration, mineralization, and geophysical and geochemical characteristics of the gold district, aiming to elucidate the metallogenic geological features and prospecting indicators of the Dongdawan gold deposit, thereby providing a technical basis for further exploration breakthroughs. The gold ore bodies are hosted in the strata of the Dingjiazhuang section of the Zhushadong Formation from the Paleozoic Cambrian and the structural fracture zones, and are significantly controlled by strata and fault structures. The ore-controlling rock is the Mesozoic Yanshanian monzonite porphyry. The ores are classified into fluoritized dolomitic limestone-type and fluoritized structural breccia-type gold ores. Geophysical and geochemical exploration indicate that the high-potassium gamma-ray spectrometry anomalies and rock geochemical gold anomaly are the most direct prospecting indicators in this area.
